On The Brink Of Magnificent Blessings

The magnificent plans which God has for each of us will not be  accomplished—without Him.
If we want to achieve His eminent success, we must live in the power of His will. When we’re there, we must not ever let doubt and disobedience remove us. Can you imagine being in the middle of a million-dollar building project and having the bank pull your financing because you failed to abide by the terms of the loan? The project is half done, you have no way to pay for finishing it, you still have to repay what you’ve already borrowed, and the building is useless!

Such despair! Similarly, when we leave God’s presence, the sickening feeling of fear and failure shrivels our courageous faith. We realize that without Him, we are in way over our head. However, when we are obedient.

God empowers and emboldens us. Proverbs says, “the righteous are as bold as a lion!” (28:1b) The righteous are bold because they have the power of God inside them. Jesus said: “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” (John 15:10-11)

When we obey Him, we live in the fullness of joy and the security of His love. We are not afraid.

What tragedy it would be to stand on the brink of His magnificent plan for us and have to turn around because disobedience had zapped our faith in God.

The first generation of Israelites whom God had freed from the slavery of Egypt didn’t go into the promised land for the same reason. On the brink of God’s magnificent plan—they walked away. The entire generation (save one), died before Israel would possess the promised land. If we find the courage of our faith wavering, then we need to assess if we have strayed from God’s will. He is our power.

“It is in Him which we move and live and have our being.” (Acts 17:28a)

When we are obedient, we draw close to Him and we find nothing is impossible!
